House of Bast is a place for people who love their cats the way cats expect to be loved: completely.
Where the name comes from
In ancient Egypt, cats were honoured in every home. They were protected, celebrated and mourned like family. Bast is the name tied to that devotion.
We took the name because we think the Egyptians had it right. A cat is not a pet you own. She is a small monarch who has agreed to live with you.
What we believe
She's family.
Everything here starts with how a cat actually lives and what her instincts ask for, not with what is easy to sell.
Honesty comes first.
We tell you what a product won't do as plainly as what it will. If a light stays on or a plug isn't included, you'll read it before you buy.

Why lapis and gold
Lapis blue and gold were the colours of ancient Egypt. They are also two of the colours cats see best. So the house is decorated for her, not for us.
